MY FILM IDEA
The idea for the film I am going to make is the same idea as I had before. I will be doing the 'Look To The Future' idea but I will be changing it a bit.
The story line follows a young couple on a date. At the start they appear to be having fun but then later on they are walking down a path next to a busy road. They start to have a deep conversation about there future but they are laughing and joking about it. The young man has a ring in his hand behind his back and the audience will know that he is planning to propose but the young lady has no clue. Then he drops the ring onto the road by accident. He instantly runs out to get it but he doesn't look and is hit by a car. People crowd round and the girl hold's his hand. He passes out and she see's the ring in his hand. The next scene will be the girl sat in a hospital waiting room. She keeps having visions of what their future would have looked like together. The a doctor walks in and tells her that he's gone.

The idea behind this film is an educational film to raise awareness about the roads and to make people think about their future and everything they would loose if they just didn't think.
I am changing the name to "Think Future" because it incorporates the well known road safety motto "THINK" and it also mentions about the future which is what this film is all about.
MORE INFORMATION
Running Time
The running time for this short film will hopefully be around 3 minuets. The first scene will be around 45 seconds, the second scene will be around a minuet, the third scene will be about 15 seconds and the last one will be around 1 minuet.
Character List
The main characters are the young couple. Other then them two there are the Doctor and the Driver. I have found people to play all these characters.

Brief description of location
Originally this film was going to be mainly made in Whitby. However since then I have realised that Whitby is too far away and there isn't much point going all the way the Whitby when I have good locations that are closer and easier to get to.
So I have decided to film the first scene in Redcar instead. There is the town and the beach for the date scene (1) which look nice and are not too busy for filming. Then there is the coast road between Redcar and Marske that will be good for the second scene where they are talking. This road is quite busy so we wouldn't be able to film on the road but we could film on the path next to it and then film all the road bits in the studio will the blue screen. The third scene will be in Guisbrough Library. I think this will be good to film in because it looks like a waiting room and with the use of a few props I think we could make it look like a hospital. It is also very accessible because it is very close to the college where the equipment is stored. Then for the scenes where the girl is having the visions of the future, we will film outside saint Nicholas Church in Guisbrough and in Loche Park in Redcar. We have chosen these locations for the flash backs because they look the part and are easy to get to.

Transport arrangements
Everyone would be making there own way to the locations. For the locations in Guisbrough I will be walking there for the college with the equipment and for the locations in Redcar I will be taking either the college bus or the 81 Arriva bus.
What is the purpose of your film shoot?
The purpose of this film shoot is to create a short film that will warn people and make people aware of safety on the roads.
Are these on location or within a studio?
Most of the film will be shot on a location but for the scene where the boy is hit by a car we will have to film in a studio since it would be too dangerous to actually have him being hit by a car. Special effects will need to be used here.
Have you got permission to work their?
All the locations that we are planning to work in are public locations so we automatically have permission to film there. Then the studio is in college so the college will allow us to use it at designated times. The only place that we will have to specifically ask to use it the Library. However this shouldn't be a problem.
What equipment must you use and why?
Firstly we will need a camera because we need something to film on. The camera we will use will be a Canon 1100D DSLR. Next we will use a tripod to avoid the camera shaking when we are trying to film. Thirdly we need tracks for the tripod to run along so that when we have shots where the camera is moving, it looks smooth and professional and not shaky. We will also need a blue screen so we can add effects to scene that would be too dangerous to actually film. Finally we will need editing equipment and a computer to edit the film once it is shot.
How will you use it safely?
The equipment that I will use isn't particularly dangerous equipment. It will be basically common sense used to make sure that it is all used safely. I will do a risk assessment and recce check later on.
What legal and ethical considerations must be made for you film?
All of these considerations will be made when writing the script. We will have to make sure that we do not include and offensive words or phrases. For example swear words or words that imply racism, sexism, homophobia ect...
We will also have to make sure that the story line isn't offensive by looking out for similar themes in the storyline. It may also be useful to have some text at the very beginning or the very end stating that the story line is original and any links to other story lines or characters are coincidental.
What editing software/ techniques will be used to finalise the film?
To edit the film after it has been shot I will use Final Cut Pro on the Apple Mac's at the college.
