SCENE 1

Montage of young couple on their date.

SHOT1:

Young couple walking down the street holding hands. Talking and Laughing.

SHIOT 2:

Looking at clothes in a shop.

SHOT 3:

Buying sweets in Sugar and Spice.

SHOT 4:

Throwing leaves on each other in the park. As they leave the park:

Boy: Do want to go to the pub?

Girl: Sure

SHOT 5:

Fighting over the music machine, playing pool and joking.

SCENE 2

SHOT 1:

Couple walking down back street next to an empty road. They aren’t holding hands but are walking close together.

Boy: So, have you had fun today?

Girl: Yes (smiling) and thanks for the drink

Boy: Haha no worries

Girl: So when can I see you again?

Boy: (Laughs) We’ve seen each other every day for the last 3 months

Girl: (Laughs) So?

Boy: Well I’m free tomorrow?

Girl: Your always free tomorrow

Boy: Yeah that’s because I have the best social life ever (Sarcastic)

Girl: Seriously though –

Boy cuts her off: There was something I wanted to ask you (quickly)

Girl: Okay…. (Weary)

Boy: You know the other day?

Girl: Yes….

Boy: When you said that you wanted to spend the rest of your life-

Boy stops talking and spins around towards the road realising that he’s dropped a ring onto the road. He runs out to get it.

CUT

SHOT 2:

Boy on the road picking up the ring. He turns around as looks to his right shocked. There is  car coming towards him.

SHOT 3:

Girl spins around to face boy on the road looking scared.

Girl: (Shouts) STOP

SCENE 3

Car is stopped on the road. Boy is laid out in front of it. Girl is stood on the pavement. Girl runs over and kneels down next to him. They look at each other for aprox 10 seconds.

Boy: Sorry

He places the ring into her hand. She looks at it confused.

CUT

Driver gets out of his car and looks at the boy. He gets his phone out and calls an ambulance

SCENE 4

Girl is sat in a hospital waiting room. Very upset. She sits there staring into space for aprox. 30 seconds. A doctor walks in. She stands up facing him. He shakes his head.

Boy: Do want to go to the pub?

Boy: So, have you had fun today?

Boy on the road picking up the ring. He turns around as looks to his right shocked. There is car coming towards him. (CAMERA ON THE ROAD BEHIND HIM. QUITE LOW DOWN. CAN SEE MOST OF BODY. TWO SEPARATE SHOTS. 1:BOY ON THE ROAD LOOKING UP. 2: CAR COMING TOWARDS THE CAMERA)

P2 RECCE CHECKS AND RISK ASSESMENTS

RECCE CHECKS
I have visited each of the locations that I will be filming in so that I can check to suitability and see how appropriate it will be to film there.

GUISBROUGH HIGH STREEET

Guisbrough high street is suitable to film in because firstly, it is very nice looking and will make the look of the film nice. Secondly it isn't too busy at certain times of the day (Morning or afternoon during working times). Thirdly there aren't many potential risks or hazards that would make filming here difficult or dangerous.

GUISBROUGH HIGH STREET RISK ASSESMENT

HAZARD:

The first and most obvious risk I noticed in the high street was the curbs. They are quite high in some places and can create a tripping hazard to actors and crew. It can also be damaging to equipment if people aren't aware and place equipment (such as a tri-pod) on the uneven surfaces.

SOLUTION:

The only way to really solve this is to make sure that everyone involved in the film is very aware and conscious of the curbs. I would do this by telling everyone when they arrive on location and then reminding them throughout.

HAZARD:

Another issue that could be a hazard or risk is the road and the traffic. The high street in Guisbrough is quite a busy road and there are cars down it all the time. This could be an issue if people are crossing the road a lot or if people are careless and are standing on the road.

SOLUTION:
Again the only proper solution to this risk is to make people aware of the danger and make sure that they are reminded throughout.

HAZARD:
The hazard in this image is the drain which makes the pavement uneven. This could be an issue mainly with equipment. It’s not that deep so there shouldn’t be an issue with people tripping over it but there is a risk to equipment if the equipment is placed on the uneven ground.


SOLUTION:
The solution here would be to speak to anyone who would be assisting in placing the equipment and make sure they know not to place any equipment on this uneven ground. I would also have to make sure I was aware constantly since I would be mainly using the equipment.

SAINT NICHOLAS CHURCH

Saint Nicholas Church is a very suitable location to film in. Firstly, because it is pretty and picturesque. Secondly, because it is really close to the college and therefore it is easy to access especially when I have to take all the equipment with me. Thirdly it is a good location because it will be used for the wedding scene and this is a location where people actually have weddings.

RISK ASSESMENT FOR SAINT NICHOLAS CHURCH

HAZARD:

The main and most obvious hazard again is the curb. This is very high in some places and as mentioned before could be a risk to people as they could trip over and injure themselves but also to equipment which could fall over if it was placed on uneven ground. Another hazard that you can see a bit of in this picture is the leaves on the ground. These can cause a slipping hazard, especially when the ground is wet. This time of year there will be a lot of them on the floor.  

SOLUTION:

A solution to the issue of the curbs is the same as it was in the Risk Assesment of Guisbrough High Street; Make sure everyone is aware. However because there is more space away from the road and the edge of the path at the church, it will be possible to film away from the curbs which will reduce the risk of people tripping.

For the risk of the leaves, they can be swept away from the area of filming. People will still need to be made aware though because, especially if it’s windy, the leaves can blow around and still be an issue.

HAZARD:

This hazard is the uneven ground. This could cause a tripping hazard because some parts of the ground are raised higher then aothers so people could trip over them. It could also be a hazard for equpipment if people place it on the uneven surface.

SOLUTION:

The solution to this hazard would be to make people aware or the danger and just make sure everyone is cautious and safe. I will also have to warn people about using equipment and where to place them in order to keep them safe and protected.

CAR PARK ROAD

The road by the car park is very suitable for filming because it is close to the college so it is good for transporting equipment. Also it is very quiet and there are very few cars that ever go down there, so even though the actors won’t be on the road it will be good for filming because there won’t be cars coming past all the time. Another advantage to there not being many cars is that when I need to get the shots of the road, it won’t be too difficult to get the road clear.

RISK ASSESMENT AND RECCEE CHECK

HAZARD:

There are not many hazards here. The hazard in this photograph is the same as the rest of the locations. The curb, and the fallen leaves.

SOLUTION:

 I would make people aware of the leaves and the curb and make sure people are being safe around it and safe with the equipment.

HAZARD:

The other main hazard with working in this place is the cars. There are very few cars that actually come down this road and when they do there is a very slow speed limit. However we will still need to be cautious when filming on this road.

SOLUTION: Check both ways before going onto the road and have people looking out to warn people on the road if cars are coming. Have as few people on the road as possible and have equipment that can be move
